Workshop

Build a Movement Map That Can Survive Without You

Build a Movement Map That Can Survive Without You Facilitator: Melati Wijsen (via Youthopia) This workshop focuses on what it takes to build climate initiatives that continue beyond the individual who started them. Participants will examine how movements are structured, where they become overly dependent on one person, and how to design systems that allow work to grow, adapt, and sustain over time. What happens in the room: Map an existing initiative (own or case study) across people, roles, and dependencies Identify points where the work relies too heavily on one individual Stress-test the initiative by removing key roles or capacity Redesign the structure to distribute ownership and strengthen continuity Takeaway: A clear movement map and continuity plan, with practical ways to build climate work that can sustain itself beyond individual leadership.
