Lama AlOraiman is a mechanical engineer, entrepreneur, and analog astronaut recognized for advancing the Middle East’s presence in the global space industry. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of BluDot, a pioneering space technology company, and Vice-Chair of the International Astronautical Federation’s Middle East and Central Asia Committee. Lama began her journey at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, where she became one of the youngest speakers to advocate for her country’s representation. She has since served as National Point of Contact for the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and as a Coordinator for World Space Week, among other international roles. As an analog astronaut, Lama has held the positions of Mission Executive Officer and Mission Engineer. She was also invited by Axiom Space, SpaceX, and NASA as a VIP guest to the historic Ax-4 launch at the Kennedy Space Center. Her achievements have earned her the Emerging Space Leader Award, Forbes 30 Under 30, the Young Arab Pioneers Award, and the GCC Honorary Medal for Distinguished Youth. She was also received by Kuwait’s Amir in recognition of her efforts to place Kuwait on the global space map. Featured in Vogue, Forbes, Smithsonian, TEDx, and more, Lama continues to champion innovation, accessibility, and leadership in space exploration.
